The methodology used by JayVogel.com keeps the customer involved throughout the development process starting with the web site flow and ending with final review of the web site prior to publishing of the web site. The process is a tried and true method of development that provides visual tracking of the web site development. The steps used are:
1. Web site questionnaire - This questionnaire asks the customer the desired content, color preferences, customer's needs and desires for the final product including the target population of the web site. This questionnaire is performed either electronically or over the phone.
2. Web site flow diagram development - this flow charting of the web site provides the customer with the branching strategy of the web site along with page titles, url page titles, and metadata (used by the search engines). This step eliminates changes later in development and provides an early check point to the customer to ensure all content of the web site is to be included. It also provides a visual indication allowing for possible expansion to be predetermined in all branching paths for future web site content.
3. Development of basic web page design - this provides the customer with a visualization of the web site's over all look before content is added to the web site. The finalization of headings and fundamental graphics is determined at this point.
4. Adding page content - content is provided in rough form to JayVogel.com for incorporation into the web pages. At this stage the customer provides text to JayVogel.com in electronic format for each web page for the site. By having the customer provide this content development time is dramatically reduced and it also ensures the content meets the customers ideas and expectations.
5. Web site preliminary publishing - At this point the customer's web site is placed on a test web server in a location the customer can review the site and provide comments for any changes that may need to be made prior to public viewing.
6. Site publishing - the final publishing of the web site for the customer's URL.
Note: All materials created for the web site belong to the customer. Upon completion of the web site JayVogel.com will archive the materials and provide these materials to the customer in digital form. |
