Jay Vogel's "Confederate and Federal the War for Southern Independence Art and Graphics" are created using the highest quality graphics. Using compositing techniques the artwork tells a specific story during the war. The example to the left is one depicting images of the parlor at the McLean House in Appomattox Virginia, featuring Generals Grant and Lee. Ghosted over this image is an image of the upper portion of the surrender document provided to General Robert E. Lee and signed by General Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox on April 9th, 1865. The title of this graphic is appropriately titled "Appomattox the Final Outcome". This graphic is one in a growing series of artwork and graphics created by Jay Vogel.

Through the research Jay has performed and help from friends and family, Jay has captured the aura surrounding many events and battles of the war from both the Confederate and Federal perspectives. These events range from the turmoil of Gettysburg with the Confederate victories on the 1st and 2nd days, to the final victory of the Federal Army on the 3rd day. During this battle of Gettysburg many heroes were found on both sides. From Chamberlain's defense of Little Round Top on the 2nd of July 1863 to Pickett's gallant charge on the 3rd of July 1863. Additionally noted is the infamous name given General Thomas Jonathan Jackson, "Stonewall", at the First Battle of Manassas which is brought forth in an image with a backdrop of the Confederate First National Flag and Stonewall's monument in the foreground simply titled Manassas.

Jay, a retired United States Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant, now enjoys using his God given graphical skills to create eye catching historical artwork of the Civil War. Jay is also an avid student of the war's history, performing research from documentation written during the times of the War for Southern Independence. Jay has a simple philosophy towards history in the terms of the proper context. "It is best to be historically correct and not politically correct".
